I grew up in a small town near Potsdam, NY, about 45 minutes from the Canadian border. I attended the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, where I earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Saxophone Performance and a Master of Music in Music Education. I moved to Saratoga Springs in 2003 and currently teach instrumental and general music at the upper elementary and middle school levels.
I discovered Zumba (r) in early 2011 while I was working out at my gym. I saw a class taking place, thought, "that looks a LOT more fun than what I'm doing", gave it a try, and have been hooked ever since. I started with one class each week, followed by two, followed by three, and before I knew it, Zumba (r) was a scheduled part of my life. In addition to the great workouts I was getting, I loved the social aspect of Zumba (r). I made several wonderful new friends, including my best friend and teaching partner, Drew Howard. Because of Zumba (r), I was physically stronger, more confident and outgoing, and I felt like I had become part of something special.
Drew and I got our teaching licenses together in 2013 after our favorite instructor moved away. We co-teach three classes every week at the Saratoga Regional YMCA, two of which were classes we used to take. Our participants are incredibly supportive and so much fun, and they bring more to my life than they could possibly know. I hold additional licenses for Zumba (r) Step and Zumba (r) Kids/Zumba (r) Kids Junior, and I attended the Zumba (r) Instructor Network convention in Orlando, Florida in 2014, 2015, and 2016.
Class schedule (all classes are at the West Avenue branch of the Saratoga Regional YMCA): Tuesdays, 6:30 PM: Zumba (r) Thursdays, 5:30 PM: Zumba (r) Saturdays, 10 AM: Zumba (r)
